H2S Awareness — Lesson One

Demonstration only — not approved training material

This is a format sample. The safety content in it has not been reviewed or approved by Matt Cross, and the figures are drawn from general references, not from his course material. Nobody should be trained from this video. Before any student version exists, every statement on screen goes to him for sign-off.

What you're looking at

One teaching beat out of a full H2S course: the smell warns you, then it stops warning you, and the gas settles into the low places a man climbs into. No stock footage, no clip-art hard hats, no cartoon characters. Just the fact, made visible.

The frame at 17 seconds is the one that matters — two lines climbing together, then your nose quits at 100 ppm while the gas keeps going. That gap is the lesson, and it reads with the sound off.

The empty frame is on purpose

At 21 seconds there's a marked plate where real footage goes — a tank battery, a cellar, an open-top tank. I shoot that on location. That's the part a training company in Dallas can't match: the video shows your country, not a stock library's.

It's a template, not a one-off

The colors, the type, the chrome down the edges, the end card — all authored once. The next course changes words and numbers, not design. Course two is a fraction of the work of course one, and every lesson in the library looks like it came from the same company.

Narration isn't on this sample. In the real thing it's Matt's voice, recorded once per course — it's his material and his authority, and a synthetic voice would be the wrong call for safety training.
